Water Canon

These are frequently mounted to specifically designed vehicles which are deployed to riots

They assist in crowd dispersal and can be a powerful tactic used by the police

Water canons jets are strong enough to knock people off their feet and have the added affect of soaking the rioters, decreasing moral

They can also provide front line riot police which a short break during periods of intense fighting or conflict
-
The water can also be mixed with teargas and even a colour dye to mark the rioters
-
A number of differently designs of vehicles are used throughout the world
