ATACC Course
Course Description
A 3 day course designed to teach the clinical techniques and management skills required in the pre-hospital and initial in-hospital phase;
from trauma to other pre-hospital incidents/life-threatening events. It consists of lectures, skills stations and real-life simulated moulages
using mock casualties and Sim-Man. The course also covers major incident management skills, mass casualties, extrications, confined access and
special circumstances medical care. A useful course for pre-hospital care providers

ATACC-MERIT Course
Course Description
This course is carried out over a 3 day period and aimed at those responding as major incident/forward aid teams.
It covers the pre-hospital and trauma training requirements of those participating in MERIT (Medical Emergency Response Incident Teams.)
Parallels the ATACC course but places greater emphasis on major incident and mass casualty clinical management rather than individual circumstances.
It also provides clinical teachings on dealing with major terrorist and CBRN (Chemical Biological Radiation Nuclear) incidents.

RTACC Course (Rescue, Trauma And Critical Care)
Course Description
This course is aimed at front-line emergency services personnel who may have to deal with life-threatening emergencies (such as paramedics,
firefighters, police officers, construction workers etc.) Over the 2 days, it introduces and trains candidates in the concepts of simple and
easily achievable life-saving interventions which can be performed at the scene of any incident (prior to the arrival of any paramedics or medical aid).

BTACC Course (Basic, Trauma And Critical Care)
Course Description
This is a 1 day course which encompasses both basic first aid and first aid at work but more focused and specifically
relevant to simple and appropriate life-saving interventions at scene by non-trained personnel. The course is aimed at
non-medics/members of the public. The course is able to be extended to include ALS (Advanced Life Support) training by
ALS instructors, should appropriate individuals require such training.

ISAC Course (Incident Safety Assessment Course)
Course Description
This is a one day practically-based scene safety course run with a Fire and Rescue Road Safety Unit, specifically for doctors,
nurses and paramedics working in the pre-hospital domain. The course includes kinematics, safety approach, personal protective
equipment (PPE) and scene assessment/management.

BATT (Critical Care Patient Transport Course)
Course Description
This is a one day course based on the latest Intensive Care Society guidelines for transport of the critically ill.
The course includes short lectures, skill stations, discussion groups and demonstrations. All aspects of transport
are included such as stabilisation, ethics, paediatrics, encephalopathic liver patients, helicopters etc.

CISTR (Human Simulation Critical Incident Training)
Course Description
This is a 1 day training course using state-of-the-art equipment (such as Sim-Man) in critical incident training.
Candidates will receive training in a variety of scenarios incorporating critical illness and the management of
life-threatening scenarios (both pre-hospital and in-hospital). This is designed for medical practitioners working
in both environments and who need to improve their clinical skills in these situations.
